Welcome
to Drawing the Line. For those of you who haven’t actually lived through this,
I figured I’d provide a little back-story. Figured I’d explain myself a bit.
Haven’t you ever had a point in your life that you know would have made a great
sitcom? Well, I certainly did. But a great sitcom is a bit beyond my budget, so
instead (being the artistic type) I opted for a web-comic. And this is the
result. Drawing the Line is a semi-autobiographical story about my experiences
in art school. I say “semi-autobiographical” because I’m taking a lot of
liberties with story and character, just to make it more understandable to the
average reader. The characters in Drawing the Line exist in a completely
different universe from their real-life counterparts, so for all I know, they
may end up going on completely different paths from the real ones. I don’t
expect it to be Shakespeare, nor should anyone take any of it even remotely
seriously. This is just my way of having some fun when I come home, everyday.
At this
point I need to thank my girlfriend, Jess, for agreeing to be my webmaster free
of charge. I know I’m not smart enough to have set all this up myself. We’re
updating the comic every Monday Wednesday and Friday, so check back then. Why
every other day? Well, once a day was just a bit rushed for me – especially
when school starts up again, and I have more pressing homework to do. And once
a week? C’mon, that’s way too slow. We’ll also be adding updates to the other
sections of the site, every so often. We’ll let you know whenever that happens.
One
other quick note: Since this comic is based on a real-life place, I’m
sure there will be people in the audience that recognize the school to which I
am referring. Anyone who goes to this school and would like to be in the comic
(friends of mine, especially) feel free to send me an email telling me so. And
include a reference photo for me, because my memory isn’t quite good enough to
design a character on. I can’t promise that everyone will make it in, but I do
promise I will try to include anyone who wants it.
If
anyone has any more questions feel free to email me. Especially if you like
what we’re doing. Those emails are always welcome. That said, I’ll update this
section occasionally, whenever I have something important or interesting to
say. ‘Til then, hope y’all have fun!
Comically,
-DJ-
